On March 21, 2006 the prefix " EPIPHANY" was reserved for our use. A few days later we closed on the purchase of a twenty-four acre farm in the New River Valley of southwestern Virginia. We spent the next three seasons tying up loose ends in NJ; selling our home and business of thirty-seven years, preparing to retire in February of 2007; making plans to move our four Morgan mares from boarding stables to a permanent home where we could "look out the window and see our babies grazing". We traveled once a month to our unnamed farm (eight hours away) for long work weekends. On one such trip, a car passed us with a cute vanity plate ~ "Us-N-Puff". As I commented to my husband about it, I was struck with the name we were seeking for our farm. "Joy" (Blythewood Vermont Joy), was our first Morgan (a sport Morgan purchased as a yearling in 2005). A month later we bought an eight year old Lippitt mare, "Star" (Wachuset Starlite). With "Us" between the names of our first and second mares, we had our farm name JoyUsStar.

The prefix EPIPHANY (the season following Christmas) of course refers to the three wise men following the Star of Bethlehem (the joyous star) to the Christ child. We are now living a lifelong dream of owning and breeding Morgan horses. And we believe our horses, our farm and its name are a gift from God
